Pastora Bolden, Assistant Principal

Pastor Bolden is the Assistant Principal of Westminster Community Charter School, where she has worked for the past 15 years. She is passionate about education and its ability to change the community and society for the better.

Though not native to Buffalo, she is proud to call it home after 30 years of working here to improve the quality of life for our children. She has a diversified background that has afforded her some exciting and wonderful experiences in the business and educational communities.

She considers her time coaching and teaching children to be dear to her. In the last 15 years, she has worked with Westminster to mentor both teachers and administrators. She hopes that, in that time, she has relished any and every opportunity to push the quality of education for the children and the possibility of contributing to the teaching profession. Pastora knows that she has achieved more in her life simply because teachers cared; this, she feels, is a tradition that must continue in the work that we do.

In terms of the relationship with M&T Bank, Pastora considers it a gift to be a contributing member of one man's vision and determination to impact our community. At this moment, she is proud to find herself in the company of a great administrator, a great teaching team, a great group of children, and very supportive parents.

Pastora believes strongly that children of poverty do not need sympathy; instead, they need participation, high expectations, and a quality education to make their own way. In order to ensure this vision for the children of Western New York and to impact the culture of our society, she feels that we need staff development and community for all teachers.

On a personal note, she enjoys time with her family and friends, and treasures the peacefulness of a garden and the exciting journey of a great book.
